The last "stilted" cage at Chessington Zoo, dated 22nd Nov 1975, holding a single Striped Hyena. There was a pair in this cage in 1972. This cage was later removed after 76, I saw it there in 1976, and the hyena was moved to a cage behind the Pumas and Leopards for a while. I believe it was euthanased around 1981 at the zoo.
This triangular cage was situated to the left of the lion enclosure at the bottom end.
The photo was not taken by me but kindly given to me as a vivid memory of my times at Chessington.
