More exhibits in the aquarium seem to be switching from freshwater to marine, or in this case, at least brackish... I wonder if this trend is likely to continue?

As bongorob has already commented, the mudskippers are in the aquarium formerly occupied by the Annam leaf turtles. Likewise the corner aquarium near the entrance (formerly the exit) which held the snake-necked turtles is now a reef tank, in the early stages of development. So in effect the only aquarium which has been converted from freshwater fishes to marines recently is the one for the pot-bellied sea horses. We will have to wait to see what happens to the two tanks which are currently empty, the one that formerly held the rainbow fishes and the big Malawi tank.

Also the tank that was the first tank by the entrance, that is now presumably the last tank by the exit, that used to house pearl gourami and barbs, but is now native UK marines (unless it has changed again since?)

I didn't know the turtle and Damba tank had also changed, are the pinstripe damba & snake-necked turtles off display or have they left the collection?

The native marine tank is unchanged, but it could do with a makeover as it was set up quite a while ago and it is not very attractive at the moment. I don't know what has happened to the species which are no longer on show - the Zoo does have plenty of room for such species off-show if they may feature in future plans. It's only fair to add that there are quite a few fishes in the Monsoon Forest and I expect that some turtles will go into the reptile displays there when they are finally ready.
