This is a print taken, I think, in 1964. I'm not sure about the exhibit behind the bird. Could it be the original Bear Pit? I think in 1964 this could have housed Malayan Sun Bears and was later used for Arctic Foxes.

It could be, but with the added addition of the wire fence at the top. Very early on it didn't have the wire fence round the pit, just the brick wall and a wooden fence 3-4ft away from the wall (where the peacock is standing) presumably so as not to tempt the public to climb in and stroke them.
