I give this a C for functionality and a D for aesthetics.
Why: A) no sufficient shading structures, B) lack of boulders, treeline, C) lack of rolling sands and/or mud bath, D) lack of a sufficiently sized pool (and please do away with that horrible concrete ... there are far more natural ways to have a shoreline and a wading space to get into the water for Indian rhinos, E) lack of any behavioral enrichment tools.
There are 6 rhinos at the zoo in a series of long, basic, functional paddocks. The ENTIRE zoo is packed with average-sized cages for big cats, Howletts-style great ape metal cages, and large paddocks for hoofstock that are not aesthetically pleasing. It is privately owned and yet still AZA-accredited and I'm not sure how new the rhino complex is.
An excerpt from my 2012 review:
The zoo has a white rhino as its logo and there are a series of long, narrow yards for a single Indian rhino and 4 white rhinos that I saw in a huge barn. The yards feature small shade structures, pools and are fairly barren but feature more than enough space for the lumbering beasts.
