@Giant Panda I don't think.we got more than a very brief glimpse of otters here, and it's possible we didn't see them at all. I might just remember @lintworm telling me about them.
I wrote about Basel just before Zurich in my trip thread, as with all zoos my opinion of it has improved in the months since. I still think it's in that crowded spot with other zoos that don't quite have what it takes to be world-class, but are otherwise excellent. It will be much better after what can only be an inevitable development of the dreary lower zoo.
