Indian Rhino Pavilion Reno (Left Side)

This is the left side of the indoor Indian Rhino exhibit. Rhinos now have access to this area. While I was there, both Asha and Nandu came to this section for a short time, almost curious about the area.

Also, in the far left you can see the ramp that gives them access to the water.
I wonder if the rhinos will actually swim though. Is the water still the same depth and can they swim from one side to the other or only on the left side where the ramp is with the poles still in between sides? Also is the mural on the wall still the same, I hope not as it looked pretty bad honestly.

I wish they had spend the extra money and covered the visitor barrier with the fake rock too. Would have helped complete the natural look.

@Palorchestes, the water depth looks to be the same, and from what I can remember, the poles in between the exhibits have been removed. As for will the Rhinos go in the water? I don't know. To me it looks like it would be hard for the adult Rhinos to turn around in the pool. As for the mural, I assume you mean opposite of the Rhinos. If that's the case, I never really paid attention to it, but it looks the same.

@TZFan I believe they do the bar because the fake rock structure seems to encourage visitors to put their children up on the rocks, and unlike the White Rhino exhibit, there's no additional barrier if something, or someone where to fall in the exhibit. Bars give the impression that one should not cross the barrier. And as you can see in the photo, there is actually an extra barrier preventing you from reaching the old/original barrier. Don't know why it's there, but it was extremely annoying.

I wasn't suggesting removing the bar. Just the concrete wall being covered in fake rock. The bar can stay. Safety should be taken first. It just would have looked more natural then the old cold concrete.

This looks really good! For a renovation that I had no idea was happening, I am very impressed with this. I love the new substrate and the fake rock on the walls.
