Do you know which Rhino- is it Hugo? From the background I can see it is the 'old' paddock.
Great shot of a rhino on the run incidentally- a sight like this is one of my earliest Zoo memories at Whipsnade(or any zoo)- the old pair 'Mohan' and 'Mohini' chasing each other in the original triangular paddock near the Giraffes, looking back I think it was probably courtship chasing.
Thank you. A keeper appeared at the opposite end of the enclosure with a bundle of freshly-cut branches; the rhino galloped at an amazing speed to get to the browse; I’ve never seen an Indian rhinoceros move so fast!

Yes, on my early visits to Whipsnade I saw Indian rhinos in that paddock too; in later years the enclosure was used for forest buffalo. (My earliest zoo memory is the old Hippopotamus House at London Zoo.)
I don’t think that this is ’Hugo’ who is normally in the new house; however, on this visit I didn’t go to that building so cannot be completely sure he was in the new building that day.
I have, in the wild in Kazaringa N.P. chasing a landrover I was in. . They are quite terrifying- Years later I can still hear the grunting noise they make as they run.
Ajang was sharing with Hugo in the new house but for the past few months (?) he has been in the left hand yard of the three if looking from the bridge. Access to paddocks varied though as rhinos can be swapped an shifted to give rhinos different paddocks from day to day. Hugo as far a I am aware would generally have the new house and adjoining sand yard during the morning and from late afternoon and overnight would have access to the large paddock, so that is a good time to see him outside.
Behan is still with her calf Jamil so I would expect Tim to have seen him if that was Behan in the 'old' sand paddock. I would say Beluki or Ajang, possibly more Ajang, but thats not based on ID, just circumstances! I don't know for sure!
