Indo-Pacific common dolphin (Delphinus delphis cf. tropicalis)

A surprise to see that these two dolphins at Oita Marine Palace Aquarium "Umitamago" are so grey with such long snouts. That potentially makes them subspecies tropicalis which at some point in the future is likely to rise to species level. This subspecies isn't reported from Japanese waters.
Great photo! They were rescued from the coast of Miyazaki because they were debilitated. They were not captured by dolphin fishing, but having them in the show might make a bad impression.
