Indomalaya Pavilion banana crop

I have never noticed this before! Are the bananas used as food for the animals or only to make the house seem more like a jungle?

Don't know about the feeding, but the banana trees are part of the IM forest - below them is the Palawan Peacock Pheasant pair, and below that the pond and waterfall.

I've never noticed that before either. Clearly a great catch.

I cant see why they wouldnt use it as food for the animals who live in the pavilion. They are all exposed to the same things so its not like it could be carrying germs from other animals in say the African pavilion. But what do I know.
