I visited the Lincoln Park Zoo this past July, and the carnivore house is shocking in its total brutality. There were small and big cats pacing constantly in outdated, antiquated, disgustingly tiny cages, and the noise level was insane. It is a house of horrors rather than a series of zoo habitats.
