Indoor Gorilla enclosure at Blackpool Zoo 06/03/11

This is the area that is most of the time unused, I've never seen a Gorilla in here, I suppose it's there for when they need to separate them. I've found this from an old set of photos which I forgot to upload.

No, it isn't small! Not sure if this(shown here) is part of the original house, but Blackpool's Gorilla 'wing' in their ApeHouse was added some time after the original tiny building, and the indoor areas are actually quite spacious, even by today's standards. It was originally very empty inside but platforms etc have been added. Although old, its still quite adequate for the small group.

I like it, I saw a photo in the Zoo's shop before of Beau the old (But young;)) Orangutan in here, he mustn't have been at Blackpool long, before the accident.

When the Gorilla area was added, it was probably the most spacious indoor enclosures any UK Gorillas had, and is still perfectly workable I think.
