There are 2 indoor pools for the hippos in Antwerp. In the front is the small one and in the back is the large basin, which is 3 or 4 times bigger than the small one and is the largest indoor hippo basin I've ever seen.
I would say that it is on the smallish side when compared to larger hippo facilities like Berlin or Cologne, but considering that the basis of the Antwerp hippo building dates back to 1885, it is still a very decent enclosure and it works fine for the hippos.
