i am sure that off show farm are much better the exhibit him as a zoo animal.....but that's just my opinion

Now, I would agree with you about exhibiting him as a zoo animal, but as shown by this sign, Colchester making it clear to visitors that he is a hybrid and not some "special" animal (like some zoos do with White Lions and Tigers).

They probably don't, but at least Colchester have it down in writing that it is hybrid that is no longer of use in the zoo world.

They are doing the decent thing by providing a spacious enclosure whilst the animal lives out its life rather than brush it under the carpet because it is a hybrid

I just think it shouldn't be in a big mixed exhibit as an "african animal"...that's it...it is good to see that they do exlpain about it but i dont think it should be exhibited beacuse of edudctional reasons.

Forgive me for asking, but since when regular visitors read the signs?!:))))

Since when will those so-called 'regular visitors' recognise the difference between a zeedonk and a zebra anyway?

You can't just shuffle an animal off the scene becasue it doesn't quite fit in with the spurious zoo-geographic theming of an exhibit. Good on Colchester for not doing so!
