I really like this interpretation building...This is something that average visitors usually wouldn't care about but because the live exhibits have been incorporated people walk in to see the animals. And once there in here they can't help but read the signs that are designed to make it seem like the animals have been confiscated by customs and inturn learn about the threats that introduced species pose to ecosystems. It is really well done in my opinion.
it is a great little building and is very authentically done - although as always the zoo gets a bit lazy in its upkeep and it no longer seems to be the hub of activity it once was. gone are a lot of the original displays and interps...
i also am not so big a fan of the use of australian and other foreign animals as stand-ins for asian species - excused with a "smuggled from australia" sign. whilst a valuable lesson, it is supposed to be a research station in a forest - i'd kinda rather it focused on the "asian turtle crisis" and other conservation issue relevant to southeast asia.
