Are there still leopards in Iran?

Nice to see someone breeding Persian leopards.

@Hix - If you mean in the wild, yes there are still leopards in Iran. The IUCN Cat Specialist Group publishes a twice yearly magazine called Cat News that lately also includes a second "special issue" on a specific region. The latest special issue is on cats of Iran. It contains a feature article on each of the ten native species, one of which is locally extinct (Asiatic lion) and one of which is globally extinct (Caspian tiger, though new research indicates it may be synonymous with Amur tiger).

The brief summary sidebar states the following:
Iranian population: 550-850 (update needed)
Distribution in Iran: Along Zagros and Alborz mountainous ranges, Kopet Dagh, mountainous habitats in south, east, central Iran

It took almost eight years, but thanks for answering my question!

:p
