Irish stand-pit ponies

Frankton Zoological Gardens is a small collection, mostly of aviary birds, in the back garden of a house near the Queenstown airport. It has been in operation since 1965!!

These ponies were rescued from a Queenstown deer park that closed down about a year ago. Apparently when they arrived they were so skinny as to be almost skeletal.
