No longer at the zoo, moved from this enclosure to go in with the Giraffes and then transfered out we think

I think that's what's called opening a can of worms!
The animals were always known as Arabian Gazelles (Gazella arabica) while at Dudley. However, they almost certainly are/were not this, but most likely some subspecies of Mountain Gazelle (Gazella gazella). The subspecies muscatensis and cora have been suggested, but it's never been proved.
Animals of this population (whatever they are!) can still be seen at Blackpool.
The problem with this information is that I picked it upon the internet and have checked it out with images of the Thompson Gazelle and then checked the mountain gazelle images out we can finally say that the picture is infact a Mountain Gazelle.
As we can all see the first image is most likely the same as the Gazelle in the Gallery

Yup. No way that's a Thomson's - coloration and horns are very different, as your pictures show.
Would be interested to know where you heard about the Thomson's being at Dudley - as far as I'm aware there have been no Thomson's in the UK for some time (15 years? Quite possibly a fair bit more) so I think you may have been misled there.
Maguari - I agree with you the person who told me came from a photgraphis forum he claimed to be a wildlife photographer but I'm beginning to think he just say's it to get on the site, I won't name the site because it's unfair to the other's who use it. I won't be asking for there help no more as this is the third time they've let me down.
It's probably a very good website for photography tips but it doesn't mean its members know about Dudley Zoo's collection history!
If it was a zoo I was less familiar with I might believe them but I've been a regular at Dudley for at least 12 years or so and any Thomson's Gazelles would have to have been very well hidden!
Yes I agree with you.
I've never seen any myself at any zoo over the ten years I've been going round so it did sound a bit dodgey but I don't know much about gazelles so I thought I'd ask the questiion on here.
