An interesting taxon [the snake, not the man]: first described as Canniaweigeli in 1987 by Wells & Wellington - the herpetologists many love to hate - there has been a lot of debate as to whether it's a valid species. It seems to be gaining acceptance as a valid member of the genus Pseudechis, known as the Pygmy Mulga Snake or Dwarf King Brown Snake.
