Jaguar Between “Bamboo” (Panthera onca)

Do note that this image was taken on April 28th, 2024, at Zoo Miami, in Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA.
While the bamboo barrier might appear distracting to some. From a personal perspective, this is the closest that my lens could reach without getting too close.

I say this because right before this photo was taken, both of the zoo’s jaguars were attempting to mate; and before I knew it, a sudden roar from one of the jags gave me quite the jump-scare!

Needless to say, that experience definitely left me shook, and reminded me to be thankful for the zoo having separate barriers between me and the cats.
