Jaguar

Nov. 26th, 2011.
How did I miss this exhibit?! I saw the jaguar asleep in its interior den, but not out in the open. Do the jaguars ever swim in that pond, and do they stock it with fish for them to catch?

Jaguar Cove opened in 2003 and is simply magnificent, and there are loads of photos of it in the ZooChat gallery. There is also a jaguar research tent that most visitors ignore, and while the pond is huge I've never actually seen a cat swimming. Just this week I saw two jaguars together for the first time ever, as the zoo is attempting to breed the male and female and usually they rotate on-exhibit.
