Was this the otter enclosure? Seems like a bit of a waste of space for them to be giving such a large land area to one small alligator. The pool size isn't impressive either.

Yes this was the otter exhibit. Over the fall, the entire left side of the exhibit was renovated by filling in the small, shallow pools and streams with the current grass. I was very glad to see this change since the exhibit would not suit a crocodilian. I also wouldn't necessarily consider 5ft. to be 'small'.

Turtle Canyon actually surprised me and I was quite pleased with what the the aquarium did with the space they had. This exhibit was divided into two sections, the left contains the largest Galapagos tortoise in the midwest, and the pool area contains two Fly River Turtles. The last display in Turtle Canyon that used to hold Burmese pythons was also divided. The left side contains an Eastern Box turtle, and the pool area contains a 200lbs, 110 year-old Alligator Snapping Turtle.
