javelina closeup

March 18, 2021, condominium in the Tucson Mountains, Arizona.
Javelinas (aka collared peccaries) come to a lawn at my condominium to feed every day. I have devised what I call the javelina cam. I set up a 15mm wide angle lens with my tripod set low to the ground and a wireless remote attached to the camera. I put it in the lawn while they are nearby and wait until one grazes its way next to the camera and gets curious and sniffs the camera. I have to clean javelina slobber off my lens when I am done, but it is worth it!
