Didn't this duiker pass away? Surprising that they still have signage up.

@Kyle's Creatures Yes the last duiker died some years ago. They still have multiple signs up.

I was fortunate to see the animal on two different visits while working on my book Zoos of the Southwest. Last visit was November 2013 - just a few weeks before Taz died.

How realistic is it to see this species in any zoo outside of their native range again? Higher than 5% (very optimistic calculation)

I've heard it's possible for them to be exported from rescue centers in their native range (offered out even) but no one's gone for them thus far.

@ThylacineAlive I find it very surprising that no zoo would want them. I wonder (honest question) how accurate that rumor is?

If the zoo wanted to make a little money then it should put the sign up for auction. I'm sure that a few zoo enthusiasts would be interested!

@Arizona Docent I know of at least one zoo (can't name it) who was legitimately offered some, but they declined due to not having had a very successful history with duikers in the past.

@ThylacineAlive I would love some more info on this if you can share anything. Im not looking for names or anything, but its one of my favorite species and an interesting conservation case.
