I remember seeing the Commerson's dolphins in 1995 (the only time I visited SeaWorld) in a weird aquarium that was filled with mermaid art, like it had been used for a mermaid show at some point.
Does anybody know what happened to the Commerson's that used to be in this exhibit? Did they all die out?

I can recall seeing the Commerson's dolphins in 2006 and I'm sure that either "geomorph" or perhaps "Ituri" know the answer as to what became of them. Orlando SeaWorld?
They were moved to Aquatica in Orlando when it opened as the featured animal exhibit there...a water slide for human visitors travels through a clear tube that goes through their exhibit!
Actually Sea world San Diego still has three Commerson's Dolphins that are off exhibit but you can see them if you do a behind the scenes tour. And Aquatica in Orlando has only two of them.
I saw footage of this exhibit while the dolphins were in it. I found the whole thing very comical somehow, just the behavior of the dolphins with their swimming upside down against the backdrop of the exhibit.
I wish I could have seen the Commerson's Dolphin Mystic supposedly had for a couple of years in the 80s after she was confiscated at JFK. Why aren't SeaWorld's on exhibit?
