Jul. 2018 - Wildlife Canyon - Capybara Exhibit (Panorama) (Former Sumatran Rhino Exhibit)

I have to say, it is depressing seeing an area devoted to (currently/formerly) Sumatran rhinos, Przewalski's horses, bactrian camels, scimitar horned oryxes, and bison going to..m kangaroos. At least the little penguins will have a new home? I do see a possibility for utilizing the current Elephant Reserve as a new home for Sumatran rhinos (if the population bounces back), but until then, the future of a legendary collection headed by Ed Maruska seems bleak.

Although this area does have a rich history, besides the takins and Prezewalski's horse in the area, to me this section just isn't exciting anymore without the Sumatran rhinos. I agree it is a little basic with the plans for kangaroos, but I do look forward to this area to get an update, especially for the little penguins!
