I think it’s important to point out this is not the final site. It’ll be lifted onto the building, and replace the existing dome. It’ll let more light in than the existing dome and will allow the orangutans 24 hour access to the exhibit, as the habitat will be netted in.
Heres the bid and plan for the project. Obviously I wish the orangutans had an outdoor exhibit as well, but this is better than nothing. I hope they can improve the exhibit when the new dome is on.
