[July 2022] Tier Garten- Bauernhof Courtyard entrance

Inside the courtyard is guest relations (which is also where the Calming Room is), the horse stalls, a Clydesdale meet-and-greet, a gift shop, the zoo’s main restaurant called the Brathaus, a snack stand, tables where visitors can eat, bathrooms, and the boarding area for the exit trams. This is where visitors can go to get up to two free Budweiser beer products if they are of legal drinking age.

I will also note that the food is quite good and I recommend eating there if you visit. I got the brat with fries. I thought the brat was just ok, which I can’t really hold that against it since brats aren’t really my thing (I thought I’d give it a shot because they are supposed to be the best thing on the menu) but the fries were really good. I can’t speak to the free beer because I do not drink but it definitely seems to be the reason Grant’s Farm is so popular with parents. I’m sure if you like stuff like that this would be a great feature. However, the non-alcoholic drink selection was pretty underwhelming. Its pretty much just typical coke product soft drinks. Nothing wrong with them, I just appreciate when something a little more interesting is offered.

I’ll add a couple things that would apply to this area but are just generally good to know if you choose to visit. The first is Grant’s Farm has gone cashless. The second is that they have a new system for ordering food where you give your phone number and you’ll receive a text when your food is ready. I’m honestly a big fan of this, as it keeps you from having to awkwardly wait around while your food is being prepared. I hope that more places adopt a system like this.
