June 2024 - Chase Sanctuary - Chlorocebus ID

Do note that this image was taken on June 16th, 2024, at the Chase Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservancy in Webster, Florida, USA.
Ok, so the Chase Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservancy has a rescued troop of these monkeys in a semi-off limits area of the property, right?

However, there is some personal confusion that really comes down as to what these monkeys truly are. I’ve always assumed they were Green Monkeys (Chlorocebus sabaeus), but the sanctuary themselves identify the monkeys as Vervets (C. pygerythrus). I assume that most of these animals were wild monkeys that were safely relocated from their invasive homeland of Dania Beach, Florida (south of Ft. Lauderdale btw).

Which now brings us here with this question, what on earth do Chase Sanctuary’s rescued monkeys really belong to?
