Jungle World

Jungle World is wonderful for many reasons, but the fact that one has to duck, shift position and move around trees, branches and roots makes for an amazing experience. Some of the exhibits could be larger for the inhabitants, but it has still aged rather well over the years.

what animals are in this enclosure? what is keeping them from accessing the platform.. or is it a walk through?

The leopards (on the right) are behind glass. The tapirs (on the left) are down in a well, pit. The gibbons (on the left) are in the forest and do not have access across the tapir exhibit to the walkway. Certainly birds come and go and the Prevost's squirrels do as well. At least that was the line up when the building opened.
