Kabili and her twin brother were 31/12/2016 to Zabulu and Kiraka. They were Kiraka’s third pregnancy and her first set of twins. The male calf died in the first week, while Kabili became the first surviving twin calf of her species to survive in a New Zealand zoo.
Twins run in her maternal family line, with her grandmother producing three sets at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
