There are a lot of massive, green, lush exhibits at this zoo! It is a pity that the enormous African section is closed in the wintertime, but are the Aussie roos still bouncing around when the colder temperatures come along? I'm guessing that there is some kind of indoor viewing area.
Though the Australia section is open during winter, I assume that most the animals here are let out according to the weather as the temperature around here mostly hovers around the freezing point (and thats' not including an occasional snow and ice storm).
At the same time, it would be perfect weather to see the river otters, red pandas, and the new "Tropics" exhibit.
