I didn't like to mention the 'advert' for the well known fast food joint, perhaps someone would like to bring it to their attention and ask them if they'd like to put some of thier millions into helping these bears, assumng they are still here, for thier sake I hope they are somewhere better by now. Anybody know?
As far as I know, the situation remains the same at Kaunas zoo. As ever so often, this is a result of chronic lack of money and, as the new tiger exhibit illustrates, expertise/good taste among certain members of the management...

I do understand and in some was feel sorry for some zoo's in the former Eastern Bloc regarding lack of finance to do what they need to do. Seems some places are lucky ie Prague while other like here in Kaunas are not.
And yes I very well might just post this photo to Mc D's just to see what they have to say about the situation, others are more than welcome to do the same if it results in a better home for the bears.

OK, sorry I should first ask if I can send your photo to Mc D's as it's not mine to use.
All I know about Prague is that the government give the zoo a lot of support, and they must be spending it well as in my view of the zoo's I've seen in Europe it's my favourite.
As for Kaunas you would have to help me out as to why it's not so lucky.

Oh and by the way I wonder if the zoo asked Mc D's permission to use that logo because if they didn't then McD's look on that kind of thing in a very bad light.
And the picture of a polar bear, is it really to say there are polar bear's in the 'display' or is it an advert for some ice cream product??
