do you remember how big it was? It looks sort of like a brown-winged kingfisher (Halcyon [Pelargopsis] amauroptera) but they are very large. Hard to judge this one's size from the photo.
it could be a Ceyx sp but its very dull-coloured. Note also that the dwarf kingfishers are very small. Really need someone who owns a kingfisher monograph to come on here
