The vegetation on Gorilla Island has been cut back severely, which has made the small alder trees beside the moat accessible. Kiondo looked very comfortable sitting a little above the ground in this nice shady spot, overlooking the cul-de-sac path between the gorilla and orang islands. For most of the time he kept his back turned, but he did take an occasional look at his public. He completely ignored the children calling 'Jurgen!'
'Jurgen' is the talking gorilla that Kiondo 'plays' in the kid's TV series 'The Zoo' which was filmed at Paignton and shown recently.
