Kabili’s name means ‘twice’ and reflects the fact that her and her brother (deceased) were twins. Auckland Zoo has welcomed two sets of giraffe twins - the other set were born in 1990 and died the same week they were born.
@Jambo Yes, Billy is still slightly smaller. He’s fast catching up with the females though. I doubt it’ll be long before there’s calves in the herd again. Maybe as soon as late next year.
