Klipspringers

March 13, 2014
Nice picture of this species so rare ( at least in Europe ! ). Do you know if Honolulu is succesfull with this species ?

If I'm not mistaken, I only remember one Klipspringer on display in 2011 & 2012. This year there where too. I am not sure they have or have attempted even to breed this Species. I remember that the Frankfurt Zoo displayed Klipspringers in the '90s and '00s. They are a neat little antelope. The Honolulu Zoo also has had a Kirk's Dik-Dik and a Red-flanked Duiker on display on each of my visits. More distantly in the recent past they have had Kudu and Dama Gazelle, though I've never seen them there. I guess I also just missed the introduction of a pair of Bongos to the Zoo this last month. Bummed about that....

My photos from 2012 show two on display in March, including that single-horned male.

I noticed those yesterday. All of mine from that year only showed one and I could not recall if a second was there or not.
