This small butterfly garden, consisting of a 400 m² greenhouse, was located on the street 'Bronlaan' in Knokke-Heist, close to where the cul-de-sac Bijenhof (which did not exist at the time) is presently located. It was located about 3.3 kilometers from the Zwin nature reserve. It closed at the end of its 2010 season and was demolished soon after. Villas now stand at its former location. The butterfly garden was owned by the Compagnie Het Zoute, a real estate development company that also originally owned the Zwin nature reserve and the Zwin bird park, before selling those to the Flemish government's Nature and Forest Agency (nature reserve) and Province of Western Flanders (bird park) in 2006.
