Unfortunately the aviary was closed due to measures against avian influenza at the time of my visit, but I was still able to get a decent view of it from the outside.
With regards to the sturgeons, the signage at Zie-Zoo said Acipenser sturio (Atlantic sturgeon or European sea sturgeon), while ZTL and the park's website mention A. baerii and A. gueldenstaedtii (Russian and Siberian sturgeon). I did not see nor have enough a sturgeon long enough to identify the species, and unfortunately I did not get any images either. Does anyone know anything about the correct identification of the sturgeons at Zie-Zoo?
