Yes I think it was all done in the same year, I was actually working there in early 1984 and remember them literally pulling the old ape house down with the Orangs still in it, because their transfer had been delayed, the Gorillas and chimps had already moved to their new quarters.
The row of bear dens behind the ape house were all boarded up at this time, left derelict after the bears left, then the Barbary Sheep and Barbary Macaques were put into it, as a mixed exhibit in 1985, all the dens had been knocked into one large one but this exhibit was very short-lived.
The whole area became the runaway mine train by 1987.
