lion enclosure (ground level from side)

That gate seems a bit insecure for housing lions.

@Arizona Docent I would agree, I see only one padlock the whole height of the gate!

I forgot to reply to this until I was uploading some more photos today. There is more than just a padlock there. Each gate has a long bolt at top and bottom of the inner corners, the upper pair of which go into the frame above the gates (out of the photo) and the lower pair going into the ground.
