Lion Exhibit

July 18th, 2010.
The lion and cheetah exhibits at this zoo are each 1.3 acres in size, and like almost every other exhibit in the 95-acre African section they are quite spectacular. The main issue with this zone is the fact that the enclosures are so large (like the 17-acre savanna) and the heat is so overwhelming in the summer that it is a chore for some families to trek around viewing the animals. It really is too bad that the zoo is considering closing off one of the African loops and making it easier to access this area of the zoo, as for the most part the entire section is outstanding.

I had no idea how large the actual exhibit size was until I took the Skyfari. They are much larger than I thought, which is very good. I felt even better about the exhibits once I saw them from the air.
