Lion exhibit

June 2009 -It was the first day that the Lions were in their exhibit in EO.
Mario: How would you rate this exhibit? From photos it only appears to be about average in size, but does it have a lot of variety of substrate?

The exhibit is indeed average in size. Comparing the two exhibits, the Jaguar exhibit looks bigger than this one. The whole exhibit is basically a desert. Hopefully the grasses and trees grow fast as the exhibit just looks plain.

I think for jaguars an exhibit of this size is excellent, but for lions it is probably average. I was told the jaguar enclosure is over 2500 square feet and is thus a very good size for a jaguar, not to mention they have the enclosure on top of their holding. The lion exhibit is a similar size and is thus incredibly smaller than America's best lion exhibit 35 miles north ;)

Maybe this is for Namibia's desert lions?;)

This exhibit makes SDZ look like the extinct one
