Made of willow, I think. Not quite the memorial to African elephant, Duchess, that I was expecting to be erected here - in the newly made picnic area between her old enclosure and the Queen's Grove. I don't know if a lion is replacing the gibbons as Paignton's emblem - there's a large one on one of the Reception's windows as well as a Trafalgar Square-type one near the entrance.
 
This is where I thought Duchess was going to be! Still no word on her memorial.
