i don't know if the panda plan will carry through, but i doubt that they would put the panda in this grotto because that would mean that tigers, lions, and a jaguar would has to rotate in one grotto. i do agree that they do seem to be getting uglier. at least they cut down the walls to combine two enclosure in to one, but i would be nice if the filled in the moats to give the cats more space.
lot of misinformation in that comment- the zoo no longer has tigers, the jaguars are going to be moved elsewhere and so are the lions, and the plans state that both grottos will house pandas.
@Jxckson I still cannot believe that the zoo is totally uprooting most of their carnivorous cats and moving them to probably areas of the zoo that are somehow in even worst shape just for pandas. Instead they should be improving the living conditions of the animals they already have. On a higher note though hopefully with pandas possibly moving in there the lion house will get a major renovation. It’s dark and still has bars and small pens making it seem super depressing.
