Is that the Journey into Africa station behind him? I haven't been since they've built it, but does it wreck the view from the lion and cheetah exhibits?
wow, it really looks like they did wreck the view. Unfortunately all too typical of recent activities at the Wild Animal Park. The plastic, cheap-looking water play area they built nearby makes the giant hot air balloon next to it look tasteful....
Sad for someone who remembers touring the Park with Charles Schroeder before it opened to the public in 1972, seeing nothing but magnificent mixed herds in the giant valley enclosures....oh well
I haven't noticed any wrecked views, but I'm not looking for the cheetah exhibit when I'm at lion camp, so maybe that's why I haven't noticed. I think the JIA loading station looks pretty nice myself. The big yellow balloon is an eyesore, but it's fun and offers great views when you're up there. I don't have any opinion, good or bad, about the water play area. I'm sure it's a very welcome relief on the very hot summer days that they get at the park though. I do think a lot can be done to improve that whole area eventually.
I guess what I was trying to ask is whether or not there is still an unobstructed view of the East Africa exhibit from Lion Camp and also from the cheetah exhibit in Heart of Africa respectively.
