Little Pied Shag (Phalacrocorax [or Microcarbo] melanoleucos)

The New Zealand subspecies of Little Pied Shag (brevirostris) comes in two colour forms - pied as in the other subspecies in Australasia; and "white-throated", as seen in this photo, where only the face and throat are white. Both forms are common throughout the country.
