Our second capybara was held in an off exhibit area, because he did not get along with the other one in the capybara exhibit. He was recently placed in the llama yard - look in the water at the closest edge, just above the llama's back.

I really enjoy the South America exhibits at Reid Park, especially the capybara tapir area. Tell me, are there still Darwin's rheas in between the llamas and capys?
No, sadly the last rhea died about a year ago. There are two galapagos tortoises in there (who lived off-exhibit for years). Sometimes you can see them and sometimes you cannot (if they're at the top, they are hidden around the bend of the naturalistic embankment).
