Long queues August 2013

Weekday in August - and the queues to get in were very long. This is good to see! With favourable weather, the new tiger exhibit, and with the PR boost of the ITV series at the start of the holidays, crowds should have been good this summer - and it seems they have been. Certainly, on this visit, had the zoo been any more crowded it would have started to become uncomfortable, in places.

It's harder to get round London Zoo, compared to forty years ago. The Mappin Terraces used to soak up a lot of visitors, all five houses on the Cotton Terraces were open, plus the Stork & Ostrich House and the paths surrounding it. I'm not being critical, just observing that it's harder now to move off the main pathways.
