Longleat giraffe paddock

No. That is just a shelter as the Giraffes are shut out of their house (which they reach via a corridor, is on the other side of a road) during the day.

Horrible to see them in mud, like cattle...Lazy Giraffe keeping! poorly constructed fencing. poached/trampled muddy ground. Most zoos would have a hardstanding or concrete area here but Longleat obviously cannot be bothered.

But, of course, the giraffes don't mind here as they're running "free" in a safari park!

Am I the only one who thinks that could be taken the wrong way..? That could sound pretty offensive.

I don't think there is any excuse for keeping Giraffe under these conditions. What other reason might there be for this situation?

Well this is an old pic for a start, something may have been done. Someone said pretty much exactly the same thing in a previous thread and they got shunned, I'm just saying the way you wrote it sounded pretty rude.
(Also, why should giraffes get better treatment than cows? :p)

just say.. this pic is OLD. the shelter is still there... the fencing has been removed and large boulders put in place and this area is nowhere near as muddy now. lazy giraffe keeping? longleat has the best breeding programme of rothschild giraffe in the uk
