I remember another similarstyle advert form this era, depicting 'Man Ape' Island with a group of rather human-looking apes screaming and looking aggressive. I'm trying to remember if the current island originally held Chimps, I think it did.

it did, i can remeber on Animal Park? that you had this part where a chimp escaped by rowing across
 
Yep. Originally baboons, but they were removed quickly after they swum off, so chimps were introduced. Their house was on the mainland so the keeper had to row them to the Island each day, and it was when the keeper got on the island and was about to get the chimps out of the boat that the escape EvilKittie mentioned occured. :D

What a strange setup. They couldn't have done that with adult male chimps, I don't think.
